April 3, 2009  •  $135  Register for this class

The origins of photography began with black and white images and for many a finely crafted black and white image is still the ultimate form of creative photographic expression. This intensive 1-day course covers the essential digital darkroom aspects of making high quality black and white images using Photoshop CS4. Participants will learn effective ways to convert from color to black & white; master curves for precise tonal and contrast adjustments; learn different ways to apply "dodging and burning" for total control over localized adjustments; and explore a range of techniques for creative toning, tinting and digital "hand-coloring".
